Delighted to spot the artwork of Brooklyn based artist Tatyana Fazlaizadeh on the streets of Berlin.
‘Stop Telling Women to Smile’ is a powerful art series created by the American artist to address gender based harrassment.
The clear, simply drawings highlight a strong message that speaks directly to the culprits.
“Street harrasment is a serious issue that affects woman worldwide. This project takes women’s voices and faces and puts them in the street – creating a bold presence for women in an environment where they are so often made to feel uncomfortable an unsafe” – from the series website http://www.stoptellingwomentosmile.com.
A successful kickstarter campaign got this artists work on the move, so pleased to see it in Europe. Long may it continue to turn up on my travels.

“Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength” – G.D. Anderson.
